SF Presents the ‘Young Manager of the Year Award’

Congratulations to Barry Greenan of ABP Food Group for receiving the prestigious ‘Young Manager of the Year’ accolade at this year’s Meat Management Industry Awards.

After joining ABP in 2011 as a Trainee Engineering Manager, Barry quickly progressed within the company and his new skills in Retail Meat Processing and management were duly recognised and rewarded. Since October 2011, Barry has worked on the following challenges: Skin stability and servicing improvements, team development, training & progression, pay structure, giveaways and yield on mince, innovation within engineering, auto steak loading and graduate recruitment & training. Now, in 2016 Barry is part of the group’s Senior Engineering Team.

This April at Seafood Processing Global, SF were pleased to support global partner Marelec. During the 3-day event attendees saw demonstrations of the Portio 3, Marelec’s extremely efficient and high precision portion cutter inline with the MC3/4P grader, bringing same-sized portions back together. The dual lane PORTIO 1DA, which offers high speed portioning on a small footprint, and the M3/6 compact grader, perfect for seasonal overflow or smaller processing operations.

IFFA-Meet the Best

With over 63,000 trade visitors from over 143 countries, IFFA 2016 certainly proved to be the place to ‘meet the best’ in the Meat Industry calendar. The 6-day trade fair was an outstanding platform for partners Eagle & SF to demonstrate their innovative Fat Analysing solutions. This international stage generated an exceptional quantity of high quality leads, each seeking a solution that offers accurate, non-invasive, real-time measurement of CL (Chemical Lean) and the intelligence to optimise raw material.

IFFA-Eagle Meat Inspections

At the show visitors experienced how fat analysing solutions can facilitate high levels of productivity while still remaining competitive and in line with retailers high specifications. Attendees saw demonstrations of the:


  • Recipe management system for red meat with integrated Eagle FA3/M fat analysis machine and a twin reject solution.
  • The Inline fat analysis and contaminant detection machine, Eagle FA3/B suitable for fresh, chilled, frozen, hot boned or mixed bulk product.
  • Advanced software for recipe management that supports vertical integration from production.
